Melissa & Alan | Linden Place in Bristol, RI

Melissa & I go way back to early high school where we’d spend days hanging out in groups of friends going to shows and driving around singing at the top of our lungs. We kept in touch over the years on social media and would run into each other occasionally at friends houses. Naturally, when her email popped into my inbox and asked if I was available to photograph her wedding to Alan, my heart leaped for joy! There is no higher honor for me as a photographer than being trusted to capture the wedding day of  friend.
Melissa & Alan are a sweet match. Melissa is high energy and a social butterfly zipping around the room attracting smile and hugs wherever she goes! Alan has a casual reserve. He’s thoughtful, intuitive, and genuine . He’s the kind of guy that you’d spend 3 hours talking to and not even know it. Take note of the honeycomb shaped structure Melissa & Alan are standing in during the ceremony. Alan designed and built the collapsible honeycomb and shipped it from California to Bristol, RI. It wasn’t just the archway in which they got married, but they also a “guest book” that they plan to have become a piece in their garden one day.
Melissa & Alan married in Alan’s hometown of Bristol, RI at the historic Linden Place which featured in The Great Gatsby film from 1974. (Note the photos on the table where Melissa is writing her vows.) There’s such charm when you’re around Linden Place which is one of the reasons why Melissa & Alan chose it. I mean check out the staircase Melissa walked down for their first look! Melissa & Alan are so thoughtful and fun which translated to every part of their wedding weekend and their guests’ experience!
There are so many great photographs from their wedding weekend. Some from their rehearsal and dinner and even a boat cruise the day after their wedding but I had to draw the line somewhere! So, here are a few of my favorites from their wedding day!

Thanks for looking!
