Wedding Photography FAQ
What is your style?
I consider myself a documentary photographer because my primary goal is to capture your wedding day as it naturally unfolds in front of me while interfering as little as possible. However, I will not hesitate to step in and suggest an area with more flattering lighting, etc. And of course during portraits, I will offer some direction and pose you. After all, I am there to make you look your absolute best!
Do you take posed family photos?
Definitely! A wedding collection would be complete without them. They are such an important part of your wedding day collection for many reasons, but most importantly because sadly not everyone in your family will be around forever, so these photos will hold a special place in preserving your loved ones for yourself and future generations.
What products and services do you offer?
A highly personalized wedding experience, my signature full day coverage, gorgeous custom designed albums you choose all the images for, parent albums, engagement albums, full resolution digital files, lifestyle sessions including engagement, day-after, and anniversary sessions, retouching, archival wall canvas prints, and standouts (one of my favorite products!)
How long will it take till we see our photographs after our wedding?!
Your images will be posted to your personal online gallery within 30 days of your wedding date, but it is really, really hard to keep my couples waiting, so I try to have them posted with in 2 weeks.
Will I need more than one photographer?
I personally shot every single one of the photographs on this website but I work with a second photographer often, especially as some weddings can be larger and more complex. Special moments can happen simultaneously at different locations, so a second photographer is a great way to gain another perspective as well as more comprehensive coverage especially for Groom preparation and candids during the ceremony and reception. A second photographer is not always necessarily, but it is always a great investment for your wedding.
Do you do destination weddings?
Most definitely! To me destination weddings are anywhere outside my normal service area of PA, NY, & NJ. I have had the opportunity to travel and photograph gorgeous weddings around the United States and internationally in Jamaica, Cancun, and this year I am heading to Germany. My dream location would be to go photograph in Iceland (is that weird?) So, if you are having your wedding there…give me a call! (Please?!)
Are you a member of any professional assocations for photographers?
Yep! I am a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP).
Are you insured?
Yes, most definitely yes. This is really important not only because many venues require it, but also for peace of mind.
Do you retouch our images?
I take a lot of photographs on your wedding day and with your trust, I loosely edit them down to the 600-900 that best represent your wedding day. Then, I go through every single image and adjust the color, density, soften skin, and remove blemishes and any distractions, so the final images you see are just right.
What is the difference between the prints we get from you and those we can buy at a retail store with the digital files you give us?
Every image that gets ordered through your personal online gallery is approved by me, and goes through an additional retouching, color correction and sharpening process by a professional lab tech in my partner lab, Miller’s- not an automated algorithm. They help me make sure every image that goes out is up to the standard you would expect and ready to be hung on your wall. The longevity of the prints, canvases, standouts and other products you order from me are guaranteed not to yellow or fade for 100 years in a standard home display or up to 200 years in darkened archival storage!
Do you require a deposit and is it refundable?
Since I do not book more than one wedding a day or weekend, I require a $900 non-refundable deposit to reserve your wedding date. The deposit is applied towards your package balance.
You have my deposit, what happens if you don’t show up?!
Let me start by saying that I have not missed a wedding ever and I don’t ever want to. My couples and I spend so much time working together, calling, emailing, planning and meeting to prepare for this one special day. I couldn’t imagine missing it and not having the opportunity of sharing it with them. 90% of the couples that find me, come from a referral. What’s the saying- if I do a great job you may tell 2 or 3 people that you know because they might just be getting married too, etc. but if I do a terrible job everyone will know you had a bad experience with your photographer. That’s said, I have to do a good job. I want you to have a great experience with me and have gorgeous photographs to brag about. I want you to be so thrilled that you share your experiences with others. It boils down to this: I just want to show up on your wedding day, create beautiful photographs, and make you happy!
We love your work, how do we book you for our wedding?!
Easy! Just shoot me an email from the contact page and I will give you a call or you can just give me a call too! We will chat a little about you, your wedding, what you are looking for when it comes to photography and set up a time to get together! When you sign the agreement and pay the $900 deposit, you can count on me to be there on the most anticipated day of your lives!
